A lifelong resident of the close-knit community of Coxsackie, a small town on the Hudson River located 130 miles north of NYC, dedicated public servant Wayne Parks founded Coxsackie Transport in 1991 as a way to better the lives of the neighborhood children he knew and loved. There were many students in Mr. Parks’ local district with special physical, social, and behavioral issues that prevented them from riding regular school buses. These students needed an alternative method of transportation to accommodate their needs. That’s where Mr. Parks stepped in. With only one other large national transportation company offering this service for special needs children and their families, Mr. Parks decided to make it available in his local community. Coxsackie Transport began in 1991 as a one-car operation. Now, 29 years later, the company has over 100 quality, DOT-inspected vehicles, a comprehensive tracking and monitoring system, a professional dispatch center, and a loyal, dedicated team of drivers who share Mr. Parks’ compassion, drive, and love for helping others.
Since the company’s foundation in 1991, Coxsackie Transport has expanded to offer transport services for special needs students across 14 local school districts, as well as charter transportation services for weddings, corporate events, sporting events, and school trips. Coxsackie Transport’s event vehicles are equipped with TVs, USB ports, comfortable leather seats, and top-notch air conditioning and heating to provide passengers with a more enjoyable ride.
